Consumer Demand Analysis of Smart Wearable Devices in China

The analysis is based on the primary data collected by Publisher from 1 April 2014 to 14 April 2014 in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Tianjin where a total of 1,000 effective samples were drawn for further investigation. The report finds that target market customers for smart wearable devices are medium-heavy smart handheld device users aged between 20 and 29 who have a higher education level and reliable income source. They are more familiar with wrist-worn and head-mounted devices and are smart buyers who will acquire as much information before buying a new product. They also care more about a product's function than its added value, such as sleek design or the impression it gives to people. For applications, most consumers regard head-mounted and wrist-worn devices as accessories that are used to extend smartphone functions.
